First time for everything...

So we were trying to think of some fun summertime activities to do with the kids and a friend in our ward suggested we go rollerskating with the boys. Well my boys have never even touched a roller skate and it has been a very LONG time since I have. I did grow up in the eighties though and that was the big thing to do back then...hang out at the roller rink every weekend. Well I figured what the heck what is the worst that could happen...besides a broken bone...so we headed out. I have to say we had a blast and the boys did great for their first time (not even so much as a scratch from all the falls). My friend and I even showed off our "stuff" since she too used to frequent Skateland as a kid...and I might add we did pretty dang good! It is kind of like riding a bike.

Anyway, just a few pics of our fun experience. My only complaint would have to be the music...or lack thereof. After listening to far too many songs that I cannot even find the words to describe I went and requested some "good" eighties tunes. Well the DJ admitted up front that his selection was slim but he would definitely give it his best shot...which ended up being "Billy Jean" and "Thriller" by Michael Jackson. Some things have definitely changed at good ol Skateland.

Oh how fun and what a great idea for some indoor summer fun in AIR CONDITIONING!!! Looks like your boys had a blast and I'm glad there were no broken bones! :o) You should try ice skating next!
