HE DID IT! Yep Marc ran and finished in one piece at the Grand Canyon State Games. He ran the 100 and 200 meter sprints and did a GREAT job!!!! I was so proud of him! He and Bro Heninger (the one who got him roped into this in the first place) both did fantastic for being some of the "old" guys. For only having a month to train Marc ran two great races and finished under the times he wanted. The best part is he came away with no injuries! We all went down as a family and the kids got to cheer their dad on...we had tons-o-fun. We look forward to doing it again next year. I only wish they did these things in the winter time here when the weather is not 110 and heat exhaustion is not only a worry for the runners but for the spectators too. I know I may be a wimp for the heat, but by the end of the day I felt like I had run a marathon and wanted to collapse. It was all worth it though to see those sexy legs come running around the track!!!!! Good job Marc...you certainly are my champion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Here are a few glimpses of the day...sorry they are so blurry. I definitely would never be hired on for Sports Illustrated.
Marc and Brother Heninger pre race
On your mark...get set...GOOOOOOOOOOOO
Coming around the corner for the 200m...look at the speed of that man
Future runner perhaps...only problem he was running the wrong way on the track

Way to go Marc! I'm impressed.
Love it, love it. Way to go. That's true about the heat, I don't know how they did that?! Yes, that heat would have killed me spectating for sure, and probably killed 10 other ordinary women as well. Way to go being there to support! I had no idea the races were so close in happening. I thought he'd have months. Yeah. I need to bottle some of that courage and commitment!!! Thanks for sharing. Man I can not let to many days go by without snooping your blog, you guys are on the move. It's fun to read.
Yeah Marc! That's awesome! I think I would have died coming around the courner! You are such a great wife and fan!

YAY -- way to go, Marc!! I love that you guys went out and cheered him on -- even in the lovely AZ heat! What good sports you are! And I LOVE the picture of Trystan? running backwards on the track! That is classic!
And check you out -- miss popularity! You've got the comments coming in! Way to go, girl! You're a hit already! I love reading your blog!! :o)
Good Job Marc...it is a great feeling crossing that finish line isn't it? I will have to tell Russ about it! Keep going...it is fun!
WOW! You mean you did not even pull anything when you were running like that. We are getting pretty old to be running that fast. I think the pictures were not focused because you were going so fast. Way to go! I am not sure I would dare run a sprint any longer. :)
